All You Need Is Love
All You Need Is Love Some time around December of 1964 I heard my first Beatles tunes. I didn't particularly like them....much unlike some of my peers. What is going on with these crazy teenagers mobbing a group of boys with hair way too long for my taste? The music has some rather odd chords, and it is just some more rock music, which I didn't like much. I finally found some music of theirs I did like....Michelle! Then another that made me laugh....When I'm 64. And another, and another......All You Need Is Love, Eleanor Rigby and Let It Be!! I was getting used to finding things I liked. There were still some tunes I didn't like and the lifestyle....the drugs, the hippie clothes, the hair that got even longer, and the ventures into gurus and Eastern philosophy. Still, I was not really a fan, but not disliking them either. Then my sister, the musician, told me how brilliant she thought their music was. And backed her statements up with statements from other talented musicians. Hmmmm! Maybe I should reconsider them! Time went on, and by the end of the 70's, I had gained an appreciation of them and their music. I know I grieved like everyone else the day John Lennon was shot. Finally, the three remaining Beatles made ventures into other music....most of which I found I loved. And then looking backward on their earlier music, it had sort of grown on me, and I found I liked it too! Yes, I had become a fan!! So here I am today, offering both old fans and new fans the opportunity to find their favorite mementos of the Beatles with the Beatles Collectible Store. I remember going to the movie theater to see "A Hard Day's Night". It was mostly girls screaming in the theater from beginning to end. Michelle was a very good song even if you didn't understand French.
